The body of work represents Ching's interest in the realm of the unknowable as he tackles questions about mortality and the mystery of things that we may never fully comprehend.

In Ching's works we see a juxtaposition of various images, including images of stars,galaxies,seascapes, still life and various doodling ranging from cartoon drawings to appropriated images from books and magazines.

For Ching the constant reiteration of images creates symbols, secret languages interpreted in various ways by different people. For him the repetition and layering of these offers endless possibilities for multiple readings. Most of his works often deals with this interest in using layered images to experiment the potentials of juxtaposition in the investigation of both formal and narrative conventions.

Ching's layered images also reveal his pop interests and culturally deals with the bombardment of images that he encounters from mass media, every-day experiences, dreams even music. His use of mirrors represents his self-reflection.The mirror can be seen as continually looking upon itself. Mirrors can also symbolize imagination and magic. Stars represents our hopes, feelings and destinies, the sea reflective unconscious. The still lives represents tangible things that he encounters everyday . Ching juxtaposes these elements, the stars and the sea and the artist’s own experience to create an endless layering of his own visual language.

マリアノ・チンのペインティング、版画、オブジェによる展覧会。死など私たちが完全に把握することはないであろう様々な事柄、知ることのできない領域に対する疑問や興味を中心に、作品を展開。星や銀河、海、静物、また、アニメや漫画、本、雑誌からの引用など、様々なイメージの並列や反復、重なりを用いた作品により、従来の絵画の技法と物語の並列およびそこに生まれる解釈の無限の可能性を探る。
